Humboldt offers interdisciplinary academic programs that focus on innovative research and a 21st-century polytechnic education. The programs touch on a wide array of sciences, natural resources, arts, humanities, and professional studies. The North Coast provides a unique learning lab for students—connecting their education to practical experiences that can’t be found elsewhere.
Humboldt also strives for societal, ecological, and economic improvement, demonstrated in our personal passions and the professions that we pursue. Our teaching and learning incorporates indigenous knowledge and perspectives from groups who have gone unheard, and better prepares students to approach their chosen fields through a lens of social justice. The University also strives to meet the needs of our rural communities, with particular emphasis on underserved populations.
Cal Poly Humboldt introduced new academic programs in Fall 2023 that align with the state of California’s goals in areas related to climate resilience and wildfire mitigation, and create access to impacted degree programs in the CSU system that correlate with huge workforce gains.
